Thread lifts

What is a thread lift?

Polycaprolactone (PCL) lifting threads are a way of redefining the contours of the face and firming the skin without surgery.

What sets them apart is their composition: they stimulate collagen production over an extended period, so the result builds gradually and lasts.

Because they are biocompatible and absorbable, PCL threads give an immediate lifting effect while the skin rejuvenates naturally and in proportion.

What absorbable lifting threads offer

PCL threads have several advantages for anyone looking for effective, natural-looking rejuvenation:

An immediate, natural lift: the skin is visibly tightened from the moment the threads are placed, without looking frozen.

Sustained collagen stimulation: polycaprolactone stimulates collagen production over a long period, improving the quality of the skin as it goes.

Long-lasting results: unlike PDO or PLA threads, PCL threads give visible effects that can last up to 12-18 months.

Non-invasive: no incision is needed, which reduces both the risks and the recovery time.

Versatile: they can be used on the face and on the neck.

How does the treatment work?

Treatment with PCL threads follows several stages:

Consultation: Dr Ghali examines your skin and draws up a treatment plan suited to what you need.

Preparation and local anaesthetic: a local anaesthetic is given so that the procedure is comfortable.

Placing the PCL threads: using a fine cannula, the threads are placed under the skin to create an immediate lifting effect.

Immediate and then gradual results: the lift is visible straight away, and collagen stimulation continues to firm the skin over the months that follow.

Which areas can be treated with absorbable lifting threads?

PCL threads can be used effectively on several areas:

Face: the jawline, the cheekbones, the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and around the eyes.

Neck and décolleté: firming and improving the texture of the skin.

Elsewhere on the body: arms, stomach, buttocks and knees, for an overall tightening.

Who is this treatment for?

PCL threads are intended for patients with moderate skin laxity who want an effective treatment without surgery.

They suit anyone looking for a natural, gradual improvement in the firmness of their skin.

They are, however, not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, nor for people with autoimmune disease or an active skin infection.

What the treatment achieves

A tightening effect within a short time: the skin is lifted once the threads are in place.

Continued improvement: collagen stimulation brings a gradual improvement over several months.

Long-lasting results: the effect can persist for up to 36 months, depending on the patient and the areas treated.

Common questions

What to know before you decide.

30 to 45 minutes on average, depending on the areas being treated.

Mild redness, swelling or bruising, which usually settles within a few days.

The effect is immediate and continues to improve over several months. The result is assessed 3 weeks to 1 month after the threads are placed.

With the local anaesthetic, the procedure is generally well tolerated.

Up to 36 months, depending on your metabolism and the area treated. To find out more about the PCL threads used at the clinic, see the site of our partner ULTRA V, or contact the practice to arrange a consultation.
